About Yoon is an award-winning photographer who has dedicated his career to telling the stories of people from all walks of life, whether a stranger on the street, a celebrity or a world leader. He was part of The Boston Globe team awarded the 2014 Pulitzer Prize in breaking news for coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings. His work has also been recognized by POYi, BPPA, Edward R. Murrow, National Headliners, among others. During the two years that he was photo editor and director of visuals at the Portland Press Herald, Yoon’s staff won numerous awards, including being recognized repeatedly by the Maine Press Association and winning three regional Emmy Awards. He has a bachelor of arts in journalism from New York University (2002) and a master's in photojournalism from Ohio University (2011). He has lived in five countries and more than a dozen cities, but he tells people he's from New York. When he has free time, he enjoys playing, watching and talking about basketball.
